ST. ARMAND -- A South Colton woman was injured while hiking Mount Baker and had to be carried out by Department of Environmental Conservation forest rangers.
DEC officials refused to identify the hiker.
On Saturday at 1:58 p.m., DEC’s Ray Brook dispatch received a request for assistance from the hiker. She reported a lower leg injury and said he was about 3/4 of a mile up the mountain DEC said.
Rangers reached her around 2:50 p.m., put her in a litter and carried her to the trailhead, DEC said.
She told the rangers upon reaching the bottom around 4:30 p.m. that she would seek medical attention on her own, according to the DEC.
