Snow, seasonal temperatures in St. Lawrence County forecast through Sunday, NWS says

Snow and seasonal temperatures are the main weather features in the forecast for the North Country through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Widespread light to moderate snowfall over St. Lawrence County is expected this afternoon continuing into Sunday.

Two to six inches of snow are expected tonight and tomorrow, the NWS says, with an additional one to three inches Saturday night and Sunday.

Clouds are increasing and snow is moving eastward from deep in the Midwest across the Great Lakes and across western and central New York, moving into the North Country later this afternoon and into tonight. This system will push a weak warm front over the North Country today that will stick around over the region for a couple of days.

The chance of precipitation will vary from 60 percent this afternoon to 80 percent tonight and remain generally in that range through Sunday night. A chance of precipitation returns midweek through next weekend, forecasters say.

High pressure will build in Monday and Tuesday, bringing colder and drier weather.

Today's high will be in the mid 20s, decreasing tonight to the upper teens.

Highs on Saturday and Sunday are expected to be in the upper 20s before dropping to the mid teens Saturday and Sunday nights.
