A slight chance of showers lingers late this afternoon in St. Lawrence County and clouds will build in tonight.
But a gradual warming and drying trend develops on Friday as high pressure builds into the region, according to the National Weather Service, and fair weather should continue right through the weekend.
High temperatures for the next few days are not expected to reach 80 degrees, says the NWS, while mostly clear skies prevail through the weekend.
Daily high temperatures will begin rising into the 80s on Monday, and then will be above normal toward mid-week, although so far they are not expected to top 90 degrees.
