NICHOLVILLE -- A year after Slic Network Solutions started its TV service, the customer base continues to grow and improvements are being made to the service.
In that time, they built a fiber optic link between Nicholville and Watertown, a statement from the company says. This strengthened the signal, brought in more local stations and added several HD channels.
Slic recently made a fiber connection to the source of more than half of its many EVTV channels. They say this stops weather-related issues, such as "rain fade" and snow build-up on large satellite dishes.
Slic says this link will allow pay-per-view and on-demand video in the future.
They launched myEVTV in July and to date have nearly 1,000 who get the service, according to Slic.
The company says their first myEVTV customer, a Dickinson Center resident, still subscribes.
