Six in Potsdam, three in Ogdensburg arrested for sale of ecstasy, oxycodone

Authorities say an extensive investigation led to the arrests today of six SUNY Potsdam students and three Ogdensburg residents on drug charges involving alleged distribution and sale of ecstasy, oxycodone, crack cocaine, a stimulant, and marijuana.

St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, Potsdam Village Police, SUNY Potsdam University Police, as well as US Border Patrol, NYS Police, and Drug Enforcement Administration conducted early morning arrests the suspects.

Arrested in Potsdam, listed with the drug they are alleged to have sold, were:

• Stephen B. McDonough, 20, SUNY Potsdam, criminal sale of a controlled substance 5th, ecstasy

• Jesse W. Moore, 22, SUNY Potsdam, criminal sale of a controlled substance 5th, ecstasy

• Scott B. Lewis, 20,SUNY Potsdam, criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd, Oxycodone

• Terrance A. Brown, 21, SUNY Potsdam, criminal sale of a controlled substance 5th, stimulant drug

• Matthew R. Loibl, 20, SUNY Potsdam criminal sale of a controlled substance 5th, ecstasy

• Saad Bennani, 19, SUNY Potsdam, criminal sale of marijuana 3rd.

McDonough was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,000 cash or $4,000 bond. The rest were arraigned before Potsdam Village Court Justice Pignone and released to the supervision of the Department of Probation.

During the Thursday morning operation in Potsdam investigators seized several bags of marijuana, an indoor marijuana grow, cocaine, smoking devices, digital scales, prescription drugs, and U.S. currency.

Ogdensburg Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, arrested three people for alleged drug sales in the City of Ogdensburg.

They are:

• Ronald B. Redmond III, 19, of 822 Congress St., Ogdensburg (oxycodone)

• Robert J. Pike, 22, of 78 Rensselaer St., Heuvelton, and formerly an Ogdensburg resident (oxycodone)

• Cassandra L. Premo, 22 of 147 Belmont Courts, Ogdensburg (crack cocaine).

Each was charged with one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony.

They were taken to Ogdensburg City Court and arraigned by Judge A. Michael Gebo. All three were released to the supervision of the Department of Probation.
