LAWRENCE -- The Jug of North Lawrence recently held a shuffleboard tournament in memory of patron and friend Gary Howe.
“We wanted to do something special for him and make a donation to help other people,” owner of The Jug, Melissa Wagstaff said. “I was amazed at the number of people who came out to support the event.” The tournament raised $505, which was generously matched by The Jug, for a total of $1,010.
“We are extremely grateful to The Jug, tournament organizers and the North Lawrence community for supporting Hospice in this special way. This gift will help provide important services to many families throughout the county as they encounter serious illness and grief,” said Hospice Executive Director Brian Gardam.
