At the 115th annual convention of the Northern New York Volunteer Firemen's Association in Copenhagen June 9 through 11, several St. Lawrence County departments were recognized as winners in the parade.
Norwood's Brass Fireman's Band placed second with Music Class A, Colton was second in Class A without music, and Louisville firefighters placed second in the drill team category. Hannawa Falls Fire Department took first place in Class B without music.
The Louisville Fire Department also placed second in the firematics drill and the team from Norfolk also participated.
During the business meetings, Laurie Hance, Hannawa Falls, was returned as treasurer of the organization and Dennis Eickhoff, Colton, as secretary.
The association announced that Louisville will host the 2012 convention.
The fall meeting of the association will be held in Colton Aug. 28 at 2 p.m.
