MASSENA -- State Senator Joseph Griffo is opening a regional office in Massena.
The Rome Republican, representing the 47th District, says the office will be opened to increase his ability to provide service for North Country residents.
The office is in Massena Town Hall, 60 Main St. Richard Ashlaw will be staffing the office and can be reached by email at ashlaw@nysenate.gov and by phone at 769-5237.
The office will be open Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and by appointment.
“Although I have been aggressive in using the Internet and other forms of communication to ensure that residents can reach my staff at any time no matter where they are, I know that nothing replaces the ability to meet one-on-one to explain a problem and discuss an issue,” Griffo said.
“I strongly believe that democracy works best when government is accessible to the people, and this is one more step in bringing that principle into practice in my Senate district.”
Griffo also maintains an office in Utica. He said that his Web site, www.griffo.nysenate.gov, provides updates on key issues and that staffers in the North Country, Utica and Albany can be reached via e-mail at griffo@nysenate.gov.
