GOUVERNEUR – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will continue her statewide agricultural listening session with a visit to a St. Lawrence County farm Thursday, Sept. 1.
She will visit the Bob and Diane Andrew Dairy Farm, 258 Hull Road, Gouverneur, at 1:45 p.m. to gather input for the next farm bill, soon to be debated in Congress.
As the first New Yorker to serve on the Senate Agriculture Committee in nearly 40 years, Sen. Gillibrand plans to focus on a broad range of agricultural issues that are important to New York in the next Farm Bill, including access to financing, new market opportunities, assistance for dairy farms and specialty crops, and investments in renewable energy.
On the same day, Gillibrand will also be making stops in Carthage, Fort Drum, and Alexandria Bay.
