ROSSIE – Those in support of an application seeking a $400,000 federal Community Development Block Grant a for home repairs in Rossie are being encouraged to attend a public hearing 7 p.m. Thursday, April 7 in the town barn, 908 County Route 3.
If successful, the grant would provide funding to repair 10 to 12 homes in Rossie needing roof, window, plumbing, electrical, heating or structural repairs. Assistance would be based on the severity of housing conditions, household income and special needs such as disabilities.
Town officials have asked the St. Lawrence County Planning Office to handle the application process.
Residents needing help with housing rehabilitation are being encouraged to call the Rossie Town Clerk at 324-5166, ext. 10 to add their names to a waiting list. All personal information will be kept confidential.
