CANTON -- Canton Central School Superintendent Bill Gregory, who is retiring this year, has been presented with a certificate of merit by Assemblywoman Addie A.E. Jenne, D-Theresa.
Gregory is leaving after serving at the helm of the Canton school district for the past decade.
He was appointed superintendent in January 2008 after a nearly six-year stint as principal of Canton's H C Williams Senior High School.
He had previously served as an active duty Army officer for 23 years, a career that included teaching assignments at Clarkson University and North Carolina State University.
