CANTON -- Red Knights Motorcycle Chapter NY 35 has donated $1,300 to the Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country.

The money was raised at the annual Charity Ride for the Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country on July 10.

The Red Knights International Motorcycle Club is made up of active and retired firefighters, with 300 chapters nationwide. New York Chapter 35 was formed in early 2007, in northern St. Lawrence County, and has grown to over 50 members. The purpose of the local chapter is to promote brotherhood, enjoy family oriented motorcycling, and raise monies for local charities.

The donation will be used to provide services to children and adults with cerebral palsy and similar service needs.

Cerebral Palsy Association of the North Country advocates for individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, in the counties of St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton, Essex and Jefferson. They provide lifelong opportunities and choices that promote independence, inclusion and an enhanced quality of life. For more information call 386-1156, or www.cpnorthcountry.org.
