AKWESASNE – If you are you interested in becoming a disaster volunteer in St. Lawrence County and possibly elsewhere for the American Red Cross of Northern New York, and would like to provide assistance during national disasters, the Red Cross is conducting a Fulfilling Our Mission training workshop, which is required for anyone who wants to respond to disasters as a Red Cross Volunteer.
The training is free. Especially welcome are members of local agencies and others willing to support the role of the Red Cross in the community’s actions in preparing for, responding to and recovering from emergencies and disasters.
The training will be held Thursday, Sept. 23 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. the Akwesasne Senior Center, 29 Business Park Road, Akwesasne.
Reservations are required by 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23. Contact the chapter office at 268-0102 or slc@redcrossnny.com.
