POTSDAM -- Healthcare providers, lifeguards and professional rescuers who are interested in updating their skills or want to be certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, may attend the American Red Cross of Northern New York course 5:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 30 at the Red Cross office, 73 Market St.
This course teaches those with a duty to act (professional rescuers, healthcare providers, lifeguards) the skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies.
This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim of cardiac arrest.
