OGDENSBURG -- Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center’s Winter Cancer Treatment Center and the American Cancer Society will offer the free “Look Good…Feel Better” (LGFB) program.
LGFB teaches female cancer patients beauty techniques to help enhance their appearance and self-image during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Women are given beauty tips about makeup, hair, wigs, turbans and scarves. Each participant receives a complimentary box of beauty products containing items used in the program.
Cosmetologist Kelly Gonyea, owner of the Hair Express in Ogdensburg, volunteers her time to provide the service. “Many women find the program fun, worthwhile and find that it really does make them feel better. I receive many thanks from past attendees,” said Gonyea.
The next session will Tuesday, Dec. 28, from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Medical Center’s HR conference room in the Annex Building. For more information or to register, contact Kay Zimmer at 393-2314 or the American Cancer Society at 1-800-ACS-2345.
