CANTON – St. Lawrence County Sheriff Deputies and Canton Village Police charged a pregnant Gouverneur woman with aggravated DWI after she allegedly fled the scene of a domestic dispute in a vehicle at the intersection of St. Hwy 11 and 310 Friday.
Katie L. Riley, 26, 106 Main St., Hailesboro Rd., Gouverneur, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Aggravated DWI is charged when the blood alcohol level is greater than .18 percent. According to deputies, Riley's BAC was .19.
Deputies say they responded to a report of a domestic dispute in a vehicle involving a pregnant female and her companion.
The female, Riley, was operating the vehicle when the argument ensued and she then fled the vehicle on foot.
Riley was located a short time later in the Village of Canton.
Investigation into the domestic revealed no crime had been committed.
She was issued traffic tickets to appear in Canton Town Court at a later date.
