POTSDAM – The Town of Potsdam is taking steps to make Town Hall at 18 Main St. more accessible to people with disabilities.
Tisdel Associates of Canton, consulting engineers, are working on a plan that would build a railing at the back entrance from the parking lot and install automatic doors there, and install handrails through the building from the back entrance to the front, according to Highway Superintendent John Keleher.
His workers will install the outside railing, and others will likely be contracted to install the doors and the indoor handrails, he said.
Keleher said he got an estimate for the back door railing from Jeffords Steel and gave that to Tisdale.
He said he expects Tisdale to have a proposal ready for the Town Council’s consideration at their next meeting July 10.
