POTSDAM – The village will be opening bids submitted by potential suppliers of a new trackless municipal sidewalk tractor Nov. 26.
The current Trackless is more than 15 years old, explained Department of Public Works superintendent Jim Corbett, and is due for replacement.
The current Trackless is used mainly for plowing snow from residential sidewalks. The new machine will be more versatile, able to plow close to municipal buildings and, with a 168-inch mower attachment, it will be useful cutting the grass at the airport, Corbett said.
