POTSDAM -- Village police say they have charged two people with stealing from unlocked cars in February and are looking for a third suspect.
On Friday, police charged Samuel J. Adams, 24, of Potsdam and a 16-year-old from Syracuse with nine counts each of petit larceny and one count each of conspiracy.
The pair were released with orders to appear in Potsdam Village Court on March 9 at noon.
There is an arrest warrant out for a 16-year-old from Potsdam who police say was also involved.
Police said the trio allegedly stole tools, electronic devices, sunglasses and "other miscellaneous items."
Investigators said police received information from "a tipster" who noticed "a suspicious individual," which led to the arrests.
Village police were assisted by the county Sheriff's Department, SUNY Potsdam University Police and New York State Police.
