POTSDAM -- A Potsdam man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop Sunday evening on Market Street.
Police said they stopped a vehicle being driven by Lorne A. Barley, 38, for failing to turn as required while driving north on Market Street at the Sandstone Drive intersection.
Police said they determined him to be intoxicated following a traffic stop and discovered he was driving on a suspended license.
He was charged at 7:26 p.m. with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, aggravated DWI and failure to turn as required, officers said.
Barley was reportedly transported to the Potsdam Police Department where he consented to a chemical test which revealed a blood-alcohol content (BAC) of .28 percent.
He was released on appearance tickets returnable to Potsdam court June 19 at 9:30 a.m., police said.
