POTSDAM – Potsdam and Hermon women were injured during a two-vehicle personal-injury accident on U.S. Highway 11 Sunday morning, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
The accident reportedly took place around 10:15 a.m. and involved Michelle E. Edney, 54, Potsdam and Natasha M. Embrey, 24, Hermon.
Deputies said that Edney was travelling north on U.S. Highway 11 when she lost control of her vehicle and went into the opposite lane and struck a vehicle being driven by Embrey.
The accident took place near Atlantic Testing, according to a witness.
Both women were transported to Potsdam-Canton Hospital by Canton rescue, officers said.
Embrey reportedly suffered a compound fracture to her right ankle.
Edney was charged with failure to keep right and Embry was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, deputies said.
