CANTON — A Canton man was charged this morning following a personal-injury accident in which a vehicle struck a utility pole on Old DeKalb Road, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Robert B. Croes, 22, was driving a 2014 Nissan Rouge when he lost control of the vehicle after cresting a hill, officers said. The vehicle then struck a utility pole, shearing it, then striking an embankment before coming to a rest.
Croes was evaluated at the scene by Canton rescue and denied any injuries, officers said.
Deputies charged him with speed not reasonable of prudent, failure to keep right and uninspected motor vehicle.
The accident was reported at 7:45 a.m.
Deputies were assisted by Canton police, Canton fire and Canton rescue.
