Police busy with alcohol- and pot-related incidents as some college students return to Potsdam

POTSDAM – You can tell some college students have returned following Christmas break – village police charged numerous people with alcohol- and pot-related offenses during the weekend.

Clarkson University resumed classes Thursday, but the SUNY Potsdam spring semester does not begin until Jan. 24.

According to village police, those cited included:

-- Tyler L. Stoddard, 21, Oxford, open container on Pierrepont Avenue at 10 p.m. Saturday.

-- Joel A. Bailey, 20, Boonville, person under age 21 obtaining alcohol by fraudulent means, 1 a.m. Sunday when he attempted to gain entry into a local bar with a fake Vermont driver’s license.

-- Benjamin C. Henschel, 20, Winfield, Penn., unlawful possession of alcohol with intent to consume, after he was observed carrying alcohol on Pierrepont Avenue.

-- Christian G. Childs, 19, Round Rock, Texas, open container and unlawful possession of alcohol with intent to consume on Pine Street at 12:38 a.m. Saturday.

-- Abraham E. Cabo, 21, Ithaca, open container, at 12:38 a.m. on Pine Street.

-- Robert R. Luker, 21, New Hartford, open container on Maple Street, at 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

-- Jeremey M. Dunning, 21, Colton, public urination on Market Street, at 1:20 a.m. this morning.

-- Moses J. Barksdale, 31, Richville, public urination and unlawful possession of marijuana, at 3:01 a.m. Saturday on Elm Street.
