OGDENSBURG – Several police agencies and Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center will participate Wednesday in a drill simulating an attack by an armed intruder.
The “active shooter drill” will include elements of the Ogdensburg Police Department, New York State Police Troop B, St. Lawrence County Sheriffs, and U.S. Border Patrol.
The drill provides an opportunity for the hospital to test its internal response to an armed intruder, and allows law enforcement to test their response.
The drill will be limited to the hospital’s administrative office building, between noon and 3 p.m. Activity in patient care areas will not be disrupted, a press releases from the hospital said.
