POTSDAM – Part of the Back Hannawa Road was closed for nearly five hours Wednesday because a tractor-trailer overturned in the middle of the road.
The incident occurred around 1 p.m. St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies announced the road was reopened at 6:07 p.m.
After the truck overturned, state police redirected southbound traffic onto the South Canton Road. A load of what appeared to be salt or sand poured out of the truck onto the side of the road just south of the intersection.
The Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department responded as liquid had poured out of the engine.
