PARISHVILLE -- The inaugural Barry Scholz Memorial Wood Bee, was "a great success," according to event coordinators.

Volunteers from New Hope and Knapps Station Community Church cut 12 cords of wood that will be given to people in need from St. Lawrence County.

"Thanks to everyone who interrupted their fourth of July weekend to help us help others," Tom Chappell, director of Helping Hands, said in an email.
