PARISHVILLE – A Parishville man is facing charges of animal cruelty and with possessing Schedule 2 narcotics.
Kevin D. Campbell, 33, of 61 County Rt. 56, was arrested Monday by St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies on a warrant after investigation of a complaint that he had neglected his dog over a three-day period, failing to provide adequate food, water and shelter for the animal.
“Upon arresting him pursuant to the warrant Campbell was found to be in possession of five pills identified as Adderall XR which is a Schedule 2 narcotic,” the arrest summary said.
The warrant charged Campbell with a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty, and he was charged with another misdemeanor, criminal possession of a controlled substance, 7th degree.
Campbell was arraigned before Pierrepont Town Justice Robert Camp and ordered held on $500 cash bail.
The deputies’ report said that he subsequently appeared in Parishville Town Court and was ordered held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail pending further proceedings.
He was arraigned Wednesday before Stockholm Town Justice Wayne Williams on the drug charge and was ordered held on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bail bond.
The investigation continues, and more charges are pending.
