OGDENSBURG – The Northern Zone Association for Counselors and Development will present nationally syndicated columnist and recognized parenting expert John Rosemond Friday, Oct. 21.
The best-selling author will appear in the auditorium at Ogdensburg Free Academy from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $30 for non-members and $20 for members. Lunch will not provided.
Rosemond has worked with families, children, and parents since 1971 in the field of family psychology. From 1971-1979, he worked as a psychologist in Illinois and North Carolina and directed several mental health programs for children. From 1980-1990, Rosemond was in full-time practice as a family psychologist in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Presently, his time is devoted to speaking and writing. He is syndicated in approximately 225 newspapers, including the Watertown Daily Times.
He has written 13 best-selling books, nine of which are published in 16 different countries. Some of his titles include: “A Family of Value,” “Because I Said So!,” “Ending the Homework Hassle,” “John Rosemond's NEW Parent Power!,” “John Rosemond's New Six Point Plan,” “Making the "Terrible" Two's Terrific!,” “Teen–Proofing,” “Parenting By The Book,” “The Diseasing of America's Children” and “The Well-Behaved Child: Discipline that REALLY Works!”
An evening parenting seminar will precede his appearance, from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 20. The event is free open to the public. Parents, grandparents and parents-to-be are encouraged to attend.
Both workshops are open to all professionals in public or private education, community and government agencies who serve children.
