OSWEGATCHIE – A barn on County Rt. 6 south of Ogdensburg was destroyed by fire last night.
The barn, at 5781 County Rt. 6 and owned by Linda and Peggy Livingston, was reported on fire at 8:30 p.m.
Heuvelton firefighters responded to the scene, backed up by volunteers from Morristown, Lisbon, Ogdensburg, Hammond and Brier Hill, and Ogdensburg Rescue. Standing by were units from departments in Rensselaer Falls, Waddington, Gouverneur and Redwood. Heuvelton volunteers reported the department back in service at 12:26 a.m.
The investigation of the cause of the blaze is ongoing.
One person was reported hurt.
The barn reportedly was insured.
