POTSDAM – State police and St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies have both charged an Ogdensburg woman with petit larceny for allegedly stealing from the Potsdam WalMart on two separate occasions.
Samantha A. Marcellus, 20, Ogdensburg, allegedly first was caught on security footage stealing from the store on Sept. 19, according to deputies. She reportedly acted in concert with another woman, and her arrest is pending, deputies added.
State police responded to a second shoplifting complaint on Sept. 23 at the same WalMart. Marcellus was again charged with petit larceny for allegedly taking $400 worth of merchandise, including two razors, nail art and condoms from the store without paying for them.
Both times, Marcellus was released with an appearance ticket and will answer the charges on Oct. 6 in Town of Potsdam Court. Additional arrests in the case are pending.
