Ogdensburg residents busted with meth-making materials and charged with felonies, police say

OGDENSBURG -- Two city residents are charged with felonies after allegedly being caught with meth-making materials.

Timothy W. Hutchison, 53, and Shane M. Rand, 27, both of 722 Canton St. are each charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The Ogdensburg Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit conducted a search warrant at their address on Tuesday and say they found “materials commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.”

They were being held in lock up, pending arraignment in Ogdensburg City Court, police said..

The Ogdensburg Police Department was assisted by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, Gouveneur Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations and New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team.
