OGDENSBURG -- City police are investigating two leads for a patient who went missing from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center and say they have since figured out what he was wearing when he left the facility.

Donald Copeman, 45, Donald Copeman, 45 of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center’s Northwood Manor, 1 Chimney Point Drive was last seen on around 9:45 a.m., police said.

Police, who did not initially know how he was dressed when he left the center, now believe he was wearing blue jeans, a light blue pocket t-shirt, possibly sneakers and had a blue jean jacket with him.

He reportedly was seen getting into a blue taxi van at Northwood Manor.

Copeman then failed to return on Saturday afternoon as expected and has no contact with staff at Northwood Manor since.

He was reported missing to the Ogdensburg Police Department on Monday.

There have been two tips from people who feel they have seen him in the Gouverneur and Edwards area, police said.

He is described as 5’ 10”, 200 lbs., blue eyes and bald. Although not depicted in the released photo, Copeman wears thick-rimmed, brown glasses.

Both the Gouverneur Village and State Police have been assisting in the investigation.

Ogdensburg Police ask anyone with information on Copeman’s whereabouts to call 393-1555.
