OGDENSBURG -- City police say one of three people who allegedly robbed a Patterson Street home while armed with a gun early on Christmas Eve is in custody, and two others remain at large.

On Dec. 24 around 7:25 a.m., police say they responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at 221 Patterson St.

Police say the vicitms awoke to three masked men pointing a gun at them and demanding property.

Road patrols "responded promptly" and were able to find and arrest Timothy S. Sharpstene Jr., 28, no fixed address, along with stolen property, police said.

He was charged with second-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny, police said.

City police ask anyone with information on either of the other two suspects to call them at 315-393-1555.

New York State Police and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office assisted in the investigation, city police said.
