OGDENSBURG -- A state parolee is jailed without bail on several charges after allegedly trying to break into two homes last month, city police said.
Arley L. Dahlberg, 30, of 834 Ford St. Apt. 7, Ogdensburg was charged Tuesday with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespass, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of marijuana, according to Ogdensburg Det. David Layng.
On May 17, Dahlberg allegedly broke into a home in the 500 block of King Street around 3:17 a.m. and the 300 block of Rensselaer Avenue around 3:39 a.m. He was chased away in both instances, and was described by the homeowners as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and a dark ball cap, detectives said. In the King Street break-in, he made off with property and cash, Layng said.
When Dahlberg was arrested, he allegedly had property that had been stolen from a vehicle in a separate incident, police said.
Dahlberg was arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court by Justice Gary Alford and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, without bail.
