OGDENSBURG -- City police say they have arrested a meth-making suspect for whom they requested the public’s assistance with finding earlier in the week.

On Friday, detectives charged Tyler D. Finley, 30, formerly of 509 King St. with a felony count of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine.

Det. Daniel Mousaw said Finley was found hiding in a basement at 328 Morris St., Ogdensburg.

He was taken into custody without incident, Mousaw said.

“The Ogdensburg Police Department would like to thank members of the community who answered our request for assistance in attempting to locate this individual, as our agency received countless tips, information and sighting reports since media outlets released our request and a photograph of Tyler Finley,” Mousaw said in a prepared statement.

Police said Finley was wanted because police found meth-making waste while serving a court-ordered eviction at his former King Street address. It allegedly included a large quantity of methamphetamine lab components, ingredients and waste, Mousaw said.

Police say they expect no further arrests.

Finley was arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton in lieu of $10,000 bail.
