New funding announced today for improvements at the Potsdam, Massena and Ogdensburg airports in St. Lawrence County will amount to $857,500.
The money will be used to remove obstructions and rehabilitate taxiways at Ogdensburg International Airport, Massena International-Richards Field, and Potsdam Municipal-Damon Field.
Ogdensburg International Airport will receive $660,000 for a plan to rehabilitate three taxiways. The existing taxiway pavement requires improvement that will enhance the safety of travelers.
Massena International will receive $150,000 to remove obstructions recently identified as a hindrance to overall safety of navigable airspace at the airport.
The existing taxiway at Potsdam Municipal-Damon Field Airport does not comply with current standards and will receive $47,500 for rehabilitation design.
The grants are from the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Federal Aviation Administration and announced by Congressman Bill Owens.
