CANTON -- An Ogdensburg man has won $10,000 in the St. Lawrence NYSARC 30th annual fund-raiser.
Donald Trimm was the grand prize winner when his certificate was selected Friday night at the Best Western University Inn. NYSARC sold 4,581 certificates for a gross profit of $40,195.
The fund-rasier was hosted by WWNY-tv's Jeff Cole, anchor of "7 News This Morning" and "7 News at Noon." Patricia Campanella, President of St. Lawrence NYSARC's Board of Directors, gave the opening comments.
Those presiding over the drawing included: Mark Waterstram, C.P.A. from The Bonadio Group, Chief Alan P. Mulkin, Canton Police Department, and Richard L. Laurin, past Executive Director.
Daphne Pickert, Executive Director of St. Lawrence NYSARC, expressed appreciation for the community's support of the fund-raiser.
"I would like to particularly thank our business partners and sponsors for their support of this year's fundraiser and of course all of you who bought tickets to make this an outstanding year," Pickert said. "Believe me, all of us at St. Lawrence NYSARC are very aware of the impact the economy is having on our services. This fund raiser will help us keep programs in place that may otherwise be challenged by budget cuts!"
