OGDENSBURG -- An Ogdensburg man has been charged for manufacturing meth following an investigation by the Narcotics Enforcement Unit.
Rusty T. Simmons, 28, of 623 State Street, Apt. 2 in Ogdensburg was charged with unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.
Simmons was arrested on a St. Lawrence County Court bench warrant, and also charged with an outstanding New York State Parole warrant for absconding. A subsequent search of the residence by New York State Parole, and members of the Ogdensburg Police Department, revealed a methamphetamine manufacturing lab equipment/components and ingredients to include three one-pot labs.
Simmons was held in city lock up pending arraignment.
Simmons had previously been convicted for unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine on Dec. 10, 2015.
The Ogdensburg Police Department was assisted with the arrest and investigation by members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force, New York State Parole, New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team, and the Ogdensburg Fire Department.
