OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg lawmakers approved two water projects Monday totaling up to $285,300 to repair the city water treatment plant and improve water quality.
Tisdale Associates will bid, award, process and oversee construction of the Ogden Street Water Plant Vault, which is in need of repairs.
Councilors approved the transfer up to $200,000 for the project.
City councilors also approved an $83,000 water project that will be completed in house.
The resolution says the city needs to establish a Water Loop in the Linden Street-Champlain Street in order to improve water quality.
After reviewing the project the Ogdensburg Director of Public Works Scott Thornhill determined that city work crews could complete the project.
A project budget estimated the cost at $85,300. Funding will be provided from multiple sources including the $30,000 from the Water Fund T&D Capital Construction account, $14,495 from the Water Tower Painting account and $40,805 from the Mansion Avenue Transmission account.
