OGDENSBURG -- Orders for January Food $en$e packages can be placed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 3, 4, 5 and 6 at the First Presbyterian Church office at 311 Franklin St.
This discount food purchasing program is open to all North Country residents, with no income eligibility to participate.
This month’s grocery items include: 1 lb. meatballs, 1 lb. Italian sausage, 1 lb. chicken, 1 lb. pollock fillets, 1 lb. ricotta cavatelli, 15 oz. bread crumbs, 26 oz. spaghetti sauce, 20 oz. pineapple chunks, 16 oz. frozen corn, 28 oz. crushed tomatoes, and two fresh produce items, all for $15.50. Specials available for January for additional purchase are: stuffed pork chops, 2 lbs. for $7, chicken wings, 2.5 lbs. for $6.50, American cheese, 5 lbs. for $11, meat lasagna, 94 oz. for $7.75, hot pockets, 12 sandwiches for $17, and meatloaf, 2 lbs. for $5.50.
Payment must be made at time of ordering with cash, check or Food Stamps. Food Stamp users should note that accounts will be not charged until Jan. 10, 10 days before the delivery date.
Food delivery is Thursday, Jan. 20 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Volunteers will deliver food to residents in Centennial Terrace, Riverview Towers and Parkview Rise.
