OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg City School District Board of Education approved the appointment of four new teachers along with other employees while also accepting several resignations Monday.
Three fall sports coaches, two advisors, a district webmaster, a part-time food service helper and various substitutes were also appointed by the board.
Kylee Disotelle was appointed art teacher at a salary of $42,775.
Heather LeClair was appointed elementary teacher at a salary of $50,894.
Sarah Hill was appointed music teacher at a salary of $42,775.
Chelsea Cota was appointed special education teacher at a salary of $46,894.
Thomas Pinkerton was named girls varsity soccer head coach at a salary of $3,886 for the upcoming fall season.
Justin Fishel was named boys junior varsity soccer head coach at a salary of $2,389.
Andee West was named modified swimming head coach at a salary of $1,577.
Rachel Atkins was appointed district webmaster and sophomore class advisor at salaries of $1,500 and $509, respectively.
Richard Patton was named pep band advisor at a salary of $1,271.
Valerie Lalonde was hired as part-time food service helper at a salary of $9 per hour.
Numerous substitute teachers, nurses and teaching assistants were also appointed for the upcoming school year.
Discussion between board members and Superintendent Timothy Vernsey indicated there is currently a shortage of substitutes.
Resignations accepted by the board included elementary teachers Amanda Sharlow and Kate Spriggs, teaching assistant Angela Drumm, boys junior varsity soccer head coach Thomas J. Hannan, and modified swimming coach Theresa Dranger.
