OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg-area band Cain has joined the competition to open for Kiss at their Aug. 13 concert near Buffalo.
An online contest by eventful.com asks viewers to vote for their favorite band.
Cain was in the running at last check, neck-and-neck with Rensselaer Falls-area band Tyrade in or near the top five. Bands need to be in the top five to be in contention. Kiss will choose the band to open for them from among the top five.
The Kiss concert site that Cain and Tyrade are entered for is in Darien Lake, near Buffalo, on Aug. 13, the closest to the North Country on their tour.
Each city's competition ends approximately two weeks before the concert takes place, so there is a little time to vote.

You can vote by going to to www.eventful.com/kiss and click on Darien Lake on the list of cities. When you get the list of bands, click “Demand It” next to the band of your choice Provide the requested information, including zip code 14040 for Darien Lake, and your e-mail address.
