The New York Power Authority will host public informational meetings in Canton, Massena and Harrisville concerning their plan to rebuild the Moses-Adirondack transmission lines.
These lines, originating in Massena, and terminating in Croghan, are more than 70 years old and are in need of rebuilding to ensure their continued reliability and to reduce maintenance costs, said a NYPA press release.
All community members are welcome to attend any of these sessions. The so-called Smart Path project supports the state’s Reforming the Energy Vision strategy for building a cleaner, more resilient, and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers, NYPA said.
At the sessions, NYPA staff will discuss the need for the project as well as preliminary design plans and will seek input from the public.
The sessions are scheduled for 3-7 p.m. on:
• Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Harrisville Central School, 14371 Pirate Road;
• Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the St. Lawrence Lewis BOCES building, 40 W. Main St., Canton; and
• Thursday, March 1, at the Louisville town offices, 14810 State Highway 37, in Massena.
