North Country Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell, D-Theresa, introduced Chelsea Clinton at a Get Out The Vote event Monday at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 910 headquarters in Watertown.
Chelsea is the daughter of former President Bill and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Assemblywoman Russell urged voters to cast their ballots for Hillary in Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary in New York State.
Russell’s “River District” includes all St. Lawrence County towns along the St. Lawrence River plus Canton, Potsdam, Rossie, Macomb and DePeyster.
"Let's show up and show the country that Hillary Clinton is New York's Hillary Clinton and send her out of New York on a wave that will carry her all the way into November and into the White House." Assemblywoman Russell told the packed meeting room that Hillary knows the people of the North Country and the challenges facing the region from her time representing New York in the U.S. Senate.
"She has watched people make doors in Hammond, stayed in the Thousand Islands and been with our troops here and abroad. No one is more qualified to be commander in chief than Hillary Clinton," Russell said.
