NORFOLK -- A Norfolk man was jailed on $50,000 bail Wednesday for allegedly raping a victim less than 13 years old in 2011, according to state police.
Massena-based troopers charged Charles R. Manning, 45, at 4:54 p.m. with first-degree rape, felony, and endangering the welfare of a child.
The incident was first reported to state police Jan. 20, but the rape allegedly occurred in 2011, according to police.
Manning was arraigned before Massena Justice Gerald Sharlow and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $50,000 bail or $100,000 bond.
He is to re-appear Feb. 8 at 11 a.m.
