MASSENA -- A Norfolk man is charged with burglary and criminal mischief after illegally entering the Holy Name of Jesus Academy in Massena.
On Dec. 1 state police responded to a report of a male subject attempting to illegally enter the Holy Name of Jesus Academy located on Trippany Road, in the town of Massena.
Once on scene, troopers located a male, Tyler C. Schmidt, 30, of Norfolk. Schmidt who picked up a rock from the ground and threw it toward the front door of the school, breaking the glass entrance door. Schmidt was taken into custody. He was charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 2nd degree, and Resisting Arrest. Schmidt was arraigned in Massena Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 bond.
