OGDENSBURG – No agreement has been signed between the City of Ogdensburg and Everything 4 Entertainment to allow Ogdensburg Riverfest to take place.

The company came before city council several months ago with plans to host a massive concert featuring a national musical act expecting to draw 10,000 people.

The event was supposed to offer camping, but it’s unclear if that’s still part of the plan, but city officials said the event would likely be downsized.

Members of the public have spoke out with support and concern regarding the event since it was first brought before the public.

In January event organizer Joe Howe came before the city to discuss the agreement, but city council told him they would need a site plan in order to move forward the plan has since been submitted. At the time Howe told the board they couldn’t book an act until after they knew for sure they could use the city’s land for the concert.

City Manager Sarah Purdy said negotiations between the city and company are underway.

“In order for Everything 4 Entertainment to use City-owned property for an event, the City and E4E have to enter into a License Agreement for the use of the property. We have been working with E4E to negotiate the terms of this agreement, and are making good progress. I'm sure it may seem like it is taking a long time, but there is a lot that goes into planning the type of event E4E will offer, so there have been several details that have needed to be discussed. When the agreement has been worked out, the next step will be a resolution calling for a public hearing on the license agreement,” she said.

Among the entertainers being considered for the two-day festival were Darius Rucker, Alanis Morissette, Brian Adams, Daughtry, Doobie Brothers, Elvis Costello, Foreigner, Styx, TLC, Bob Seger and Duran Duran.
