FOWLER -- Fowler will have a new playground to show off at their annual Family Day Saturday.
Thanks in part to a $50,000 grant secured by state Sen. Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, and funds realized from last year’s Family Day, the Town of Fowler purchased and built a brand new playground.
Fowler’s Family Day on July 14 will feature ceremonies, displays, vendors, classic cars and plenty of activities for children, plus a chicken barbecue.
“I am thrilled the new playground is ready in time for the town’s children to use at this wonderful event, but also because it will allow children to get outside, get their bodies and minds active and grow their social skills for years to come,” said Ritchie, who is Deputy Vice-Chair of the Senate Health Committee.
“The playground has been a great addition to our town,” said Fowler Town Clerk Kelly Harmer. “We now have a beautiful facility for our children, the future of our Township. It would have taken several years to finance and build our playground without the Senator’s help.”
