ROSSIE -- Boaters and anglers can now use a new access point to the Oswegatchie River, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
The Wegatchie Waterway Access Site is now open and includes parking space for five vehicles and a trail to a boat launch that is suitable for canoes and kayaks, Cuomo said.
The site is on Chisholm Road, off county Route 12 in Rossie.
The upgrades were financed by $5,000 in state funds.
St. Lawrence County is also slated to receive improved access to the waters and wetlands of the Fish Creek Wildlife Management Area in the towns of Macomb and Depeyster, as well a new car-top launch providing access to Pleasant Lake and Pleasant Lake Stream on the Grasse River Conservation Easement in the towns of Clare and Colton, Cuomo said.
