OGDENSBURG -- A new gynecologist and obstetrician is practicing at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center clinics here and in Canton.

She will also provide care at Canton Health Center, 39 West Main St.

Lawson comes to CHMC from Ontario, Canada. Prior to that, she was the chief and lead obstetrician and gynecologist at Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston, Ontario. She attended medical school at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at New York University. She is certified through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Her clinical interests are high-risk pregnancy, urogynecology, infertility and hormone replacement, according to CHMC.

“I bring years of solid experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology,” Lawson said in a prepared statement from the hospital. “I want to help Claxton Medical Women’s Health Services grow with best practices for safety and efficiency.”
